Given the foul weather, and always being prepared to rise to a challenge, I was intrigued by this thought. So ...
Alex has scored 12 goals in 1331 minutes on the pitch = a goal every 111 minutes.
Mark has scored 16 goals in 2019 minutes on the pitch = a goal every 126 minutes.
So not a lot in it and, as you say, Mark is a mid-fielder.
