After going behind Oxford City started to dominate the match and got their reward when Deanne Tomkins equalized on 26 mins. City then won the ball straight from Henley’s KO with Deanne Tomkins slotting again after 27 mins. Steph Mobbs also scored before half time to make the score 1-3 to City.

Michelle Robinson scored from header after a well worked short corner to make to 2-5 and then Deanne Tomkins scored the last goal of the game to make the final score 2-6 to Oxford City.
It was an entertaining game, with City deserving their win and maintaining their position at the top of the table. Both teams will now look forward to their next meeting in the County Cup Final.
Oxford City Ladies ‘A’ 2
Banbury Utd Ladies 0
Oxford City ‘A’ fielding several youngsters due to injury strengthened their Southern Regional Women's League Division One position with a great result at home against Banbury United Ladies on Sunday.
City only had 11 players available with two of the players making their debut for the Ladies team, so they had to rely on their fitness and determination to record their first win of 2008 with a well deserved victory over Banbury.
City dominated the game and Christina Higgs scored a volley from the edge of the box to make the score 1-0.
City continued to pass the ball around well and created many chances with the woodwork being hit twice in an attempt to get a 2nd goal.
City kept chasing for their 2nd goal and their efforts were rewarded when Abi Smith then scored to make it 2-0 after a well worked move to seal the victory.
The scoreline could have been higher if it weren’t for some good goalkeeping and the woodwork!
Overall it was an excellent day for both teams with two thoroughly deserved wins.
