Jules,
What's tough taggling??? Is this something you and Tash get up to? We'll have to send you to the same spelling school as Creedy is currently on.
I agree with you. I only played in the Oxon Senior Cup once, as most of my playing career was spent with sides that competed in the Berks & Bucks Senior Cup, but had great memories of playing the final at the Manor for Carterton in the final against City. Although we were underdogs on the night we took City to extra time, eventually losing on penalties (I scored mine by the way). Great memories though.

: It's not Mickey Mouse, it's a fantastic cup
: and it's great to be involved in the
: competition.
:
: Some of my best memories of football include
: playing in the finals and semi-finals at the
: Manor and Kassam, Banbury, Barton Rec and
: Osberton Radiators...I think?!?!.
:
: It's a chance for players to show the locals
: how good they are, especially when the
: finals used to get 500/600 watching. Whether
: it's still the same attendance now I don't
: know and it might not be as strong as the
: Berks and Bucks but it is still a highlight
: for any player to be involved in.
:
: I didn't see the game you're talking about
: but tough taggling from players from a lower
: league is always going to happen. It's the
: same when you have a first v reserve match
: on a training night. It's a chance for them
: to prove a point. Better quality players
: just have to have less touches and move the
: ball quicker so as to not give the opponents
: an opportunity of a 50/50 and then shake
: hands afterwards when their better quality
: has proved victorious. It's that simple.
:
: Good luck for the next round, go and win the
: cup, and enjoy the champagne afterwards...I
: always did!
