We did indeed take the competition seriously. No-one will change my mind that the tackle on Allaway was not a redcard offence. There was no attempt to play the ball as it had already gone, it was high with studs showing. To make it worse the idiot who comitted the offence laughed it off, as if it was something he done all the time. THen all though the game when fouls were comitted you had a number of the opposition making comments 'oh, you've got to applaud that' when players were receiving treatment. Its not football and its not clever.

: As regards the ref. How is he supposed to
: progress and get better if he is not exposed
: to competitive real games of football? All
: young players start somewhere and if a young
: player had a shocker you would all be
: saying, "he's only young give him
: time", the same surely applies to
: Coggins. I am not defending his performance
: but why are you all desperate for the lad to
: fail? There are tackles and there are leg
: breakers. Anyone at the game with any sense
: of justice would probably have sent off at
: least two of the Bletchingdon players, not
: for over zealous competitive tackling but
: for genuine attempts to seriously damage the
: Oxford City players. There lies the
: difference, being competitive and trying to
: mame someone. I think You will find Oxford
: City took the game very seriously indeed by
: sending out what was virtually a full
: strength team, and not treating the
: competition with contempt by fielding a
: reserve team.

: A lot of people on here, have never had the

: round or even at a higher level of local
: football and talk utter rubbish about a
: Game/Cup they do not understand. and they
: would all cheer if they or team would win it
: ! Oh and, don't play football if you don't
: like getting tackled hard some times !
