Don,
Because you mentioned the word key in your post, it reminded me of this verse from Matthew 16 (NKJV):
19 And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
I suppose that in the hereafter, you will enter heaven and St. Peter will greet you personally as one of those few Chrstians who really understood what Matthew 16:19 was all about; as well as 2 Peter 1:3-8.
OTOH, it may also be true that the keys that you posted here has little to do with the keys of Matthew 16:19.
Your proposed set of lessons seems like a good idea, for it combines a Bible passage with some mysterious envelopes that should especially interest children.
I think you should persue this idea of yours and report to us the results. Is it intended for a Sunday school class at your church?
You wrote in your post:
"His next statement 'that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature' is even more extreem. Do we Christians, today, make any attempt to consciously take on the nature of God? But with God all things are possible and Saint Peter proceeds to make the nearly unfathomable quite comprehendable in its usefulness to God and the individual Christian. This results in an individual with a transformed life. At times, in the history of the Church, there was much familiarity with transformed lives, but not so much today. My purpose here is to enhance the possibility for transformed lives using Saint Peter's keys to the Christian's life to unlock the blessings of God and the revelation of the charactor of God within today's saint-to-be."
From reading what you wrote, this verse from I Corinthians 13 (NKJV) also comes to mind:
10 But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.
I suspect that the "that which is perfect" (from verse 10) is associated with what I quoted from your post, specifically the divine nature (i.e. perfect love).
