Dear Ray,
There are no longer privileged groups. Israel has been set aside as a chosen nation, therefore the wild olive branch has been set aside. It no longer has any meaning because there is no Israel. These things are past. You are looking at a calling and a hope that has not been offered to anyone for nearly 2000 years. The kingdom on earth was the hope of Israel. (Acts 28:20) Gentiles could be partakers by being grafted in to that hope. Israel rejected both their Messiah and their promised kingdom. There is a new hope and calling today and it has nothing to do with Israel or promises made to Abraham or a kingdom on earth. The sphere of His calling for us today is NOT the restored kingdom on earth. The one hope today has NOTHING to do with the earth.
As for the ten commandments, they span through all times, except that today we do not observe the sabbaths.
If a man is foolish enough to put himself under the Law of Moses, he must observe the WHOLE law. The law was impossible to keep because the flesh is full of sin. "For as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law." They will fail. By the law comes knowledge of sin. "THEREFORE BY THE DEEDS OF THE LAW SHALL NO FLESH BE JUSTIFIED IN HIS SIGHT, FOR BY THE LAW IS THE KNOWLEDGE OF SIN." (Ro 3:20)
The law can be viewed in two ways, by the flesh or by the spirit. The law is "spiritual", but man is carnal. If the the law was studied and the true meaning and purpose of the law understood, then men would know that they were full of sin and could NOT keep the whole law and that their only hope was to look for a Savior who was without sin. Only the Lord could fulfill the Law. Christ fulfilled the law by taking all the sins of the world upon Himself and dying. He paid the ultimate sacrifice for sin and thereby nailed the law to the cross.
