Dear Ray,
This entire creed is a mistake. Are we to put our faith in the wisdom and commandments and doctrine and creeds of men? Flat out, no! "Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help. His breath goeth forth, he returns to his earth,; in that very day his thoughts perish." (Ps 146:3,4) I put my faith and hope in the our God and Savior Jesus Christ our Lord. I put my faith in the inspired words of God.(Ps 119:144; 1Peter 1:23-25; 2Tim 3:15,16) He said, "And there is no God else beside Me; a just God and a Savior; there is none beside Me. Look unto Me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I AM God and there is none else." (Ps 45:21,22)
Where in the Word do you find, "very God of very God"? What is that? The one God is given many divine names and titles, but this is not one of them. And what is the "one baptism" in this creed? Is it the baptism without water that Israel experienced when they crossed the Red Sea "dry shod"? Is it baptism by fire? Is it a water baptism? Is it a spiritual baptism by the operation of God made without hands? Which?
Where in the Word is it ever said that we must believe in a particular denomination headed by man? "And ye are complete in Him, Which is the Head of ALL principality and power" Col 2:10) Christ is our Head and our Savior and the church we are part of is clearly spoken of as "the church which is His body". (Eph 1:18-23) We are members of His body, of His flesh, and of His bones. (Eph 5:30) We are built together for a habitation of God through the Spirit. (Eph 2:22)
"For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are One...And this is the record, that God hath given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He that Hath the Son hath life: he that hath not the Son hath not life." (1John 5:7,11,12)
