Dear Ray,
Matthew was written to Israel. The nation of Israel was given some temporal blessings as well as spiritual. (James is also addressed to the Jews) Today, we are promised "all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ". (Eph 1:3) We are given strength and a sound mind and peace and hope and the love of Christ. We also should expect to suffer in this life. "For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on Him, but also to suffer for His sake"(Php 1:29)
We should pray with all thanksgiving and be joyful with whatever is His will for us. We certainly cannot expect to be given everything we may ask for. If it is our will and not His will, then it will not be given. His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. He knows what we need before we even ask. We should be content as was Paul whether we have little or much.
I will answer your question about what the Bible says about women as pastors, but don't have time right now.
