Dear Ray,

Yes, I understand what you are saying. It is good to just read and get a basic view of Who He is. The Word is written in such a way that is IS plain speaking. We can study the scriptures in depth and still there is something new to discover. There is no other book like it in the world. There are books is the Bible that I have read many times and yet am often surprised by something I had never seen before.

One of my favorite books is Proverbs. Proverbs is full of so much wisdom that there are answers to nearly any kind of situation we may come across in this life.
