I have read virtue online and stand firm almost in their entirety for several years and I have never seen violent hatred. Of course I haven't read all the reader's comments but of the many I have read I have never seen violent hatred. If you son has seen that there I feel bad that he has received a severely distorted view of orthodoxy. It is also sad that he arrives at his conclusions via gut reactions and fleeting impressions rather than reasoned discourse and rational thought. And then the third sad fact implied by your post, it is sad, Jim, that your argumentation was so weak that it could not sway a person so ready to be swayed that he was swayed by a few harsh words from the lips of a handful of people on the fringe of the orthodox enterprise. A post full of sad news indeed.
