I must note the paucity of the posts related to the launching of the Anglican Church in North America on June 22-25, 2009 in Bedford, Texas. Did you know that June 24th is the traditional day for the celebration of Mid-Summer, a popular celebration for pagans. And June 23rd is St. John's Eve, on the night of which witches gather. Do you remember the night on Bald Mountain in Walt Disney's Fantasia?
The ACNA leadership has picked a very auspicious time for the launch of the new church. On these particular dates a large meteorite has struck the earth. Several wars have started. There have been a number of disastrous fires, floods, and airplain crashes. Flying saucers have also been sighted.
Did the Common Cause Leadership Council consult their astrologers before they picked these dates? And the heat down south this time of year. It already is high 90s in Louisiana and over 100 in Mississippi.
I still taking bookings on a slow ox-drawn wagon to Bedford. We won't make the gathering but there will be plenty of beans, biscuits, and camp fire coffee on the way and barbecue and cold beer in Bedford. Bring your guitar or dulcimer and we'll compete with the cayotes at night.
