I never ever suggested we ignore 'chapter' 2. Rather I said be a bit cautious about its use -- a very different thing.
Modern scholarship, generally suggests that Romans is redacted from several things Paul either dictated or preached. I frankly had never paid much attention to that point until your post made me think about it a bit. I am busily acquiring some of Sanders work on the topic. {I am blaming you so you may hear from my wife about the budget!
}
My only point above was that when attempting to tie together various sections of Romans, especially 'chapter' two and others one must be a bit careful. Careful not because there are no connections but because you may be seeing what the (unknown) redactor / editor had in mind not what Paul had in mind.
