I do not see why you think the term "rehab in the 'justice system'" is an oxymoron. According to the short web page (linked below), punishment, rehabilitation, deterrence, and incapacitation are the four acknowledged objectives of the criminal justice system.

What is wrong with seeing similarities in objectives and goals in the following:
(1) a secular criminal justice system, and
(2) salvation offered by a church or denomination?
If you see similarities bewteen these two, do you also see important distinctions as well?
