Any time that one works, he produces some good for his fellow man. Isn't it wrong for a government to discourage good by taxing it? Speeding in one's auto is taxed to a quite small amount but it discourages people from driving fast.
On the percentage needed; two points - government doesn't NEED 2 trillion Dollars and some people by far more than you or I do. One airplane purchased by some rich dude adds lots of revenue for Uncle Sam. Then there are yachts, hunting lands, cars, furnature, swimming pools, etc. It would produce enough cash for government.
