Did you write that there is a similar mortgage crisis in foreign nations?
If so, which nations?
From looking over various web pages a few years ago of religious groups with women pastors, I noticed a high correlation between the ordination of women and the issue of racial discrimination. Good examples are web pages of religious groups that make Dr. Martin Luther King a saint. I do not recall seeing religious group web pages with male-only pastors that make Dr. King out to be a saint.
I suspect there is a valid connection between the view of Dr. King as a saint and the ordination of women. I suspect the connection is due to the view that racial discrimination is an attitude of discrimination according to one's looks rather than one's actions. Similarly, women are treated well or badly according their looks, such that actions are not judged the way a man's actions are judged.
