Well, that was the original intent for Pepsi, that it be used for mouthwash. However, it not only washed ones mouth, it also disintegrated teeth. So, they had to switch to a milder formula--thus, Scope. People liked the taste of Pepsi so much that they decided to make a soft drink out of it. Next time your drink a can of Pepsi, be sure to read the warning lable: Do not gargle unless you already wear dentures.
