WHY, when there is a Snappy Lunch, a Blue Bird Diner, a Mayberry this and a Mayberry that in oldtown Mt. Airy, is there no Mayberry Courthouse replica??? Perhaps the most recognizable part of the Mayberry scene is not represented. The "old Mayberry jail" is the poorest of substitutes. There is a "nod" to the jail in the Emporium, but, it, too, is a poor attempt. Is it because it cannot generate sufficient income? ...cannot sell a product? Is any entrepreneur, town father, listening?
