Posted by Bob --This makes it seem all the more odd when it really does happen, kind of like in the movies. But, this can be a good thing. If you are sensitive enough to have this happen a lot, that can leave a person vulnerable. >I have asked him to visit me again a couple of times, but he hasn't come yet. I tend to get pretty nervous (not so much consciously...it's just in the background) about letting my mind really believe that all this "really" happens...so I think that's kinna holding me back from receiving him. --It's like getting a phone call from a famous person. You get nervous and wonder what kind of things they really give a hoot about. Star people's agendas are similarly obscure. I wouldn't spend too much time sitting by the phone, but you could make it a point at meditation time to beckon him if you really want him to communicate again. >Weird things like my earlier post "randomly" happen to me, but I'm not so good at purposefully drawing them to me when I want. Could you recommend a good book for working through that kind of issue? --That's a tough one, for me. I think that in the books of Carlos Castaneda, we learn more about the way beings from other dimensions or time lines think and function. His teacher, don Juan, explains the mechanics and pitfalls of such experiences in a way that develops these strange abilities in the safest manner possible. >What you said about "ashram" was interesting. I've always been drawn to the idea of a mystery, occult school. A lot of the occult books out there just don't feel "right" to me, and I'd love to have the chance to discuss all the different philosophies and such with people. --Well, if you think of a few, many of the people who frequent this board have insight and experience with magickal orders on the earth plane and on the inner planes. Maybe toss out a few specific questions to see? >Most of the people I've met are into kind of a "lite" Wicca or things like that, but what I'm looking for more of a deeper, occult knowledge. I've started reading William Gray, and I really like his stuff. --I think that he is into "High Magick", which is the ceremonial and developmental system of Hermeticism. Hermetism is the European descendant of Native Egyptian Religion, and Hermeticism is the more experiential and experimental side of it. Remember on Buffy when Willow joined a coven? She wanted to study spellcasting, and most of the others just wanted to plan dances.

>I'd never had someone just appear in front of me like that, so I was so surprised that all I could do was look at him. That kind of stuff doesn't come natural to me.
