Back on March 11, 2008, I visited the shop.. I was a 17 year old, in the beginnings of discovering magick in general. I had been dabbling in Tarot for about a year, and I was in search of a book to take home from my visit. The Shop Owner introduced herself right away, and I just remember her having this buzzing energy about her, I could feel it from being a few feet away. She led me to the bookshelf and handed me The Tarot Book by Jana Riley, telling me it was the only one I needed to learn. I luckily could keep up with her talking, she talked so quickly, letting me know what information wasn't pertinent, and where the gold in the work was. On the cover was The Magus of the Thoth deck, which at the time I had no idea who Crowley was... I left the store inspired to move further with my studies.... fast forward to about 2011.. I, naturally, have accumulated a large number of books on all matters esoterica, many tarot as well. There lay my book still, its binding falling apart from my many hours of scavenging it for answers. A visit to my local store, I had spied the Thoth deck many times, only to be purchased, and although I had come across it a few times in my research, I only heard it was ominous. But still it pulled at me, until finally I was able to purchase it. Talk about an awakening.. Crowley's ideas and concepts finally spoke to me.. Although I still went in my old book to search for a little bit of clarity that I may have missed.... And there it was. Right in the introduction, mentioning Thoth, and in its card definitions showing a clear reflection of it. At last, I understood. You were right all along, from the beginning, and I needed to express my humble gratitude. I hope I can make it back one day.
