In addition, I would petition one of the Archangels for help- Gabriel for dreams in general, and Michael if your friend believes that the nightmares might be a form of spiritual attack (though that doesn't really happen often).
If your friend is a lucid dreamer, she can do what I do if I don't like a nightmare: change it. Decide, in the dream, that you don't like what's going on, and change it around. Face the atagonist in the dream. Sometimes, when I do that, they reveal something interesting.
Finally, sometimes getting a better night's sleep helps put an end to nightmares. She can try sticking to a regular sleep schedule, minizing noise, cutting stimulants and sugar out of her diet (but only before bed) and using aroma therapy or some gentle sleeping/relazing herbs, like chamomile, jasmine, agrimony or lavender before bed. (Mimi sells all of these herbs, I believe.)
If your friend has a parasomnia that causes her nightmares (like Night Terrors), you might want to ask a doctor's advice. There isn't currently a treatment for Night Terrors, but there are things you can do to mitigate them. Likewise, if your friend has a psychological condition that lends itself to nightmares (like PTSD), she should consult her counselor.
