There are many people who have the sincere desire to pursue the knowledge of the occult arts & sciences and/or learn to live the pagan path and celebrate the Wheel of the Year in the old way, but there are very few who have achieved the development of character which entitles them to receive such knowledge.
When you claim to have read that you shouldn’t be charged for classes it refers to those exceptional few who have achieved such levels of development that they do not require payment for such time and dedication from a Master or school. To make the statement that no one should pay for the time of the teacher...to suggest that everyone should receive such specialized training for free would enable knowledge both precious and powerful to be placed in the hands of any spoiled brat who whines that he wants to learn. Character questioning and scrutiny is the responsibility of the occult school..
There are ways to learn without paying money...but to get something for free...Well, you may get what you pay for. Payment may be made through apprenticeship. Often it should be made this way. I prefer apprenticeship because of the hands on learning. But often people do not want to dedicate the time and effort that apprenticeship dictates. Apprenticeship is very demanding as it should be.
No method of training will be suitable to all temperaments. So, it seems that you need to determine what you want to learn and plan to embark on that line of study. I can help you determine what the benefits can be to participate with CPWC and how you may be able to serve yourself just as well as a solitary...and even be able to do both if you so choose. You just may need some ideas on how to begin in a structured manner.
I am constrained to respond in thorough on this forum and I suggest that you come in and we can discuss further, in person. Many of the things I would like to elaborate on must be said face-to-face. I would love a courtesy call to let me know you are heading my way...that would be helpful to my busy day.
I would also like to say that I am very proud and honored to be friendly and in communion with The Covenant of the Pentacle Wiccan Church (CPWC). Communion...means COMMON + UNION. I am not Wiccan and I am not a member of the CPWC. Esoterica Occult Goods and myself work in common union with CPWC to serve the public and humanity.
CPWC does many wonderful things for the community. They hold open ritual for Sabbats and Full Moons for those who want to gather and seek fellowship and those new to the community. They are an excellent bunch of characters. They all come from all walks of life. They raise money for great causes, they help people who are down and out and they come together and appear as a force to be reckoned with when someone needs defense or support in any way. They feed the community and even host a very wide spread Wiccan prison ministry. They keep a close eye on the good character that witches should have and they police the community to help ensure that those of unethical character cannot take root in our region.
They do catering as a business to raise funds to support all the things that they do and host. So, they also charge for classes as one of the means for raising coven funds.
I hope this helps a little....and hope to see you around the store. We are here to help you learn how to learn on your own..and if you seek fellowship you will see that it can be easily found.
