When in doubt, when one needs to clarify, break it down to basics. Define what fortune telling means and represents and then define what tarot is. Just off the top of my head: tarot is a set system of divination. The suits mean what they mean, the numbers have significance, the minor cards represent the physical world, the major the spiritual world. There are 4 court cards whose actions in combination with their suits and the qualities of both mean certain things. How well one knows and works the tarot correctly will add to their divination skills with application and practice. I do not know of any fortune telling cards that operate withing the perimeter of what I call a set system. This makes them, from what I have seen more like an oracle deck. Oracle decks are based more on a theme than any system. So I think the term “gypsy tarot” may be sort of a misnomer.
The "6th generation" comment to qualify one's self is bragocious at best. (My spell check is not recognizing my spelling of bragocious??? It’s a word, isn’t it?) I wouldn’t believe a word a person who makes statements like this says. That’s kind of extreme..but 6 generations of anything does not mean “good quality” or “knowledgeable” or “trustworthy”.
