I have found very little authentic material on what a true Hectite Witch is.
One web site suggests it's a witch with seven generations on both sides of the family. This , if it were true, would be almost impossible to prove.
It is true in part, that the "hectite gene" moves in the family, but generally it shows up in cousins or may even skip a generation.
After much research on this topic, in the much older books on the occult, I have found that a Hectite witch can be male or female but MUST BE BORN DURING AN ECLIPSE (solar or lunar).
An astrological profile would suggest if the chart has most of the planets together in a group and one planet directly the opposite direction, forming a sort of triangle, you might be a Hectite that is , if you were born during an eclipse.
Remember during a lunar eclipse, the moon is opposite the sun the rest of the planets must neighbor the sun. In the case of a solar eclipse chart position, where the sun and moon are together another planet must be in opposition to them. The planet, if it were Venus, would give the Hectite abilities that pertain to Venus ie love beauty feminity if Mars was the planet it would be masculine and the things that pertain to Mars.
To narrow the possibility of a natural born Hectite even more, A Hectite witch generally has a birthmark of a cresent moon,(which could be interputed as horns), or a cloven hoof somewhere on their body.
A Hectite's powers are natural, and needs no assist from candels, incense etc. It isn't even a necessity for them to cast a circle. Most Hectites manifest telekinetic abilities and some rarer types are "firestarters" or can summond winds or storms at will.
These powers are said to double in strength when the full moon is triune to their sun sign, ie if the sun sign is Libra the full moon would have to be in Aquarius or Gemini, if a Virgo , in Capricorn or Taurus etc.
As you may have determined by now,a Hectite who is born one is rare...but a Hectite also has the ability to "impart powers" to a lesser degree to those who he or she is mentoring.
Most of the materials where this information has been gathered can be found in your older occult books and a few are still in circulation .
