I am shopping for a new vehicle for my wife and I, and our new baby coming soon. I found a 1990 Ranger Rover SWB. I am not sure if it is a standard or a County. We test drove it and she liked it. My question is. Would this be a decent family vehicle and occasional off-road vehicle for us. I have good mechanical skills but I would like something fairly easy to work on. What I means is easy to understand. Like I said I am a good mechanic. Are these things like some older imports that have odd wiring and suck or can I figure it out with my test 12 volt test light like my old dodge. It would be our daily driver so I would like up keep to be fairly simple. The guy is asking 4000.00 for it. It is in really good shape, drove and ran great. Is that too much. My research says it is worth 2500 to 3000. I live here in OK and would like to go 4x4ing with ya'll. Would you let and old Dodge tag along once in a while? :)
