I think I speak for myself and my fellow weekend warriors when I say this is some of the best talent we’ve had at Dyckman in the 7 plus years I’ve been here, and it’s a shame and disgrace what is going on with the officiating. Too often I’m seeing the games taken out of the players hands. Not just with this week’s past incidents but the whole year. I know these guys aren’t professionals but they do get paid and it’s obvious they don’t take pride in what they are doing, and no one is checking up on them, so now in addition to making terrible calls these guys are on power trips.
Dan this is your league now, you have to be more involved, or find some people to help you so there is a presence week to week. There is no evaluation process or anything for the referees and these guys just get away with whatever they want. The players (the people who make this league possible) are suffering. No one gets up early on Sunday to play in mud, and fight for an hour and a half to walk away feeling slighted.
Fix this or people will find somewhere else to spend their money.
Some referee problems I’ve seen that are inexcusable and can easily be fixed
Out of position to call plays.
Making up rules.
Confusion as to what the score/down is.
Flags coming in well after plays have ended.
We all know what happened in the playoffs last year, lets not wait until something like this happens again to fix the problem.
If its true that Richie wasn't threatened suspend him and bring in an alternate ref or a B ref... anything. I think its time to split these crews up, as they are getting a little too comfortable
