I'm responding to a rumor that I heard after the AO v Rush game that was called at halftime due to Richie "feeling threatened." (his words). People may have been screwing with me, I don't know, but regardless, I feel that I have to respond swiftly and assertively. After the officiating crew left, I heard players and spectators on both sides say that they heard an official state that they were leaving because they felt they that I made a move that appeared that I had a gun. This is so preposterous that it is probably not even worth responding to. But since I heard this being discussed by people on both sides of the field, I can't just ignore it. I am a 30 year Jewish lawyer, who has been playing in this league for 7 years with AO in both the A and B league. I have never even seen a gun outside the possession of a police officer and I wouldn't know how to make it appear that I had a gun. I am also probably the least threatening looking person on my team. I have always believed that I had a good relationship with Richie and the referee crew, and I still plan to have a good relationship with them carrying forward. Win or lose, I almost always shake the hands of the referees.
