Posted by JayBee I recently discovered the Mendota, Ill. depot cam (makes a nice side-by-side screen with the Trains mag. Rochelle web cam), and it's great to see thte Amtrak action, but I'm really disappointed with the lack of freight traffic I've seen past the Mendota cam. I know this ljne (BNSF, former Burlington Northern) is one of the main rail lines to and from Chicago (I've been a rail fan for many years), so where are all the trains? I'll see several BNSF trains pass the Rochelle cam on that line, with nothing going through Mendota. I can't believe I'm unlucky enough to keep coming up on the light side with Mendota day after day. Then today I saw UP locos on a stack train through Mendota, and it looks like both UP and BNSF show that line on their route maps. Now I'm really curious! Can anyone shed any light on this for me?

I'm not a member of your organization, but just discovered your site (lots of stuff to see!) and I'm betting someone in that area can answer this for me (I've posted this on a couple of other sites with no reponse yet):
