A friend of mine runs the Zex single nossle dry kit and got over 400Hp out of an old, bone-yard 7 series motor. I don't remember what jet he used, but I can ask, if you like. I watched the dynos myself at TPS Performance. The motor was in a 635csi. At Moroso, he pulled down a high 12 second quater mile. He has the same kit on his 3 series now and claims to blow most anything off the road.
Seems simple and safe to me. Just don't get too carried away else you will grenade the motor. Always address fuel among other things if you go against the manufacturers recommendations. I, myself, have never fooled around with the stuff; but my friend swears by it.
