I only use the unit for knock detection, so I cannot say how it reacts during actual boost. Some say it is ok for low boost applications and those who have retrofitted the units claim good results with minor alterations. In any event, it does have adjustable sensory inputs which gives one the ability to narrow down the knock field for a particular engine block. In this way, it makes for a great tuning tool.
