My fathers name was James Fraser Halliday who sadly passed away last month but i was trying to research his family history and was looking up Daviot where his mothers side of the family came from namely one Auntie Jo who i think was the school mistress at the time Alistairs Father was the minister when i found this out and that Alistair spent some years in Daviot it brought back a memory of my dad talking about him and saying what a great gaelic singer his mother was and then being shown an old 45 recording of his mothers singing.
I am planning my first trip to Daviot in the next couple of weeks after passing it by for many years.
