My own book, From the Foam of the Sea, was portrayed on the blurb by the publishers as bearing "comparison with the stories of Desmond Bagley or Alistair Maclean" going a bit far I think. I like Robert Ryan a lot.
My next book "The Serpent and the Cross" due out March-April 2010.
I think Maclean's first 5-6 books were great not so struck on the ones after that.
