If you have read MacLean and are looking for a contemporary author who has a resemblance to MacLean: Look to the sweedish author Henning Mankell! I have just read " The return of the dancing-teacher" and it is thrilling but does not have the same speed and action to be found in our hero MacLean. But: all the same: thrill is outspoken.
