Hi !
After a long search I have finally found you.... This response is from Budapest in Hungary. My name is Istvan (that corresponds to Steve in english)
I was listening to the Fabulous 208 from 1966 to 1971, I did it each and every day until late nights. I had a speciality: I was listening to the "Sound Surveys" brought by
Bob Stewart or Jimmy Sevile or Tony Prince, mostly by Paul Burnett or whoever played the chart. This program was broadcasted first on Sunday nights, later it moved to Tuesday nights.
First it was Top 20, then they turned it to top 30 around 1967. I had a special thick booklet, and from May of 1966 I noted down all the single charts until 1971
each and every week ! I was proud of not to have missed even one week noting down the charts ! (I marked the new entries etc.) Then in the year 1971 I had to spend a one year military service somewhere
in the county over here in Hungary, and I lost my booklet with all my charts archive covering 6 complete years.
I am so sorry, I would like to recall these charts. Could you help me if these are available online somewhere? If this is not possible, is there any access to the NME (New Musical Express)
charts, because most probably, if I remember well, the Sound Surveys were based on the records sellings published by NME in England. Many thanks for your efforts, assistance and reply.
Best regards
Istvan
