If DRM isn't so much the dream RTL had planned and hoped for, then would Radio Luxembourg within Skydigital/Freesat on the excellent all-europe satellite Eurobird1 get it better noticed? Eurobird 1 has 3 European beams;
a fixed one going from NW Africa to Western Russia and from the UK down to N&W Turkey,
steerable beam 1 giving Europewide coverage,
and steerable beam 2 slightly ignoring the extreme SW of spain and covering much of Europe bowing down into part of the Middle East.
This satellite is exactly at the same position as the Astrabouquet at 28.2degE and is receivable on Sky equipment as well as free-to-air and gives good reception coverage over much of Europe and the UK, satellite gets more listeners in more countries and has generally available and affordable receiving equipment, DRM is still dragging it's heels as are the receiver manufacturers and with nothing expected immediately, so you can see where the real winner is immediately.
