Hi
Seems like they might agree with you, i had no idea they had re-lanched until a week ago, and apparently they have stopped the digital UK broadcasts in 2007 and since then halved the djs from 8 to 4, with only 1 former 208 member Benny Brown remaining. The only way to listen now in the UK is via the net, they have closed the discussion forum down and do not reply to any emails even though the dj staff are constantly encouraging listeners to send them. Allhough it is without doubt a good classic rock station and to me preferable to local radio in the UK, it is a shadow of the former giant that was FAB208, and listening to it using the name and some similar jingles makes me feel a bit like i did when i watched Holmes beat the great Ali!
Like many good times in life i would give anything to have just one night back in the 70s, listening to that amazing station on MW, but those days have gone forever, no radio station could ever achieve that in the age we now live in. Back then they were IT, IT, is now fragmented in to so many different mediums of entertainment.
I have no idea how the new station is funding itself, no adverts, no links for anyone interested in advertising and no means to communicate with the station. Listening to it feels strange because you do wonder if the djs are actually live or whether it is all just recordings, no mention of what time it is, what the weathers like, in fact nothing spoken by any of the djs to give a clue that they are actually there as you are listening to them!
