Posted by Mike Knight But I do feel great sympathy for the team that managed to convince RTL to re-start RL on the back of the DRM dream. "IF" the promised sets had arrived last year - "IF" they had made an impact in the UK retail stores and "IF" joe public had taken to the idea - then maybe RL would have achieved some audience/revenue and been able to offer a higher quality product than the one they currently have budget for. Living on the "Legend" of RL is nice - but it does not pay the bills. The DRM concept still excites me - and I believe it may well be the future of long-distance broadcasting - I don't think that the current RL programme content is causing any existing UK radio stations to shed a tear.... perhaps even, the opposite!
