For a while in the 60's and 70's R.Luxembourg was broadcast on BOTH 1440kHz/208m MW AND 6090kHz/49.26metres SW in the evenings enabling european and international listeners to tune in and enjoy it, wherever they were in Europe and around the world. Then at some stage the night-time hours in English were cut on the SW to the final 3hours between 12:00-03:00UK(01:00-04:00 CET)with german for the daylight hours commencing at 4am UK(5am CET) on both 1440kHz MW and 6090kHz SW for the daylight service. What date were the night-time hours on SW curtailed to three hours a night?
