My experience with ABA therapy is that are not a team player. They do not consult with other disciplines such as OT, SPD, SLP, etc. and incorporate their goals into their program unless the parents demand it. It is very costly for the parents too, since they are hired 20-40 hours a week after school including weekends. However, they do toilet train, diminish certain behaviors, etc. When they do carry thru with my goals, it really helps, especially with feeding issues. Can you imagine what we as SLP's can do providing 20-40 hours a week of therapy??????????
