i whole heartedly agree with dcl - if you want to work in the schools, but don't want the headache of being a case manager for ieps, look into the occupational therapy field. as far as i know, occupational therapy is in high demand and has the flexibility, like slps, to work in a variety of settings. if you're still considering slp in the schools, i strongly suggest you shadow an slp who's going to show you what happens after therapy is over and the paperwork begins.
