I totally agree with all of you. The amount of paperwork is ridiculous...and I even have a "more manageable" caseload of 50 preschoolers. I am thinking about doing private practice or contracting, but am worried about the lack of a guaranteed income, insurance reimbursement, etc. I just don't know how much longer I can take this. We as a group need to be more pro-active and speak up and perhaps not work in the schools if conditions are this bad. And I agree...what are our ASHA dollars really going to? The main thing we care about is making things manageable so we can do what we went into this profession for...to see kids!
