I have been working in the public school system full-time for three years. I also do PRN work for a few SNFs and see some children after school through a private speech therapy company. I am strongly considering making a job shift. Ideally, I would like to leave the schools (or change to part-time status), while expanding my private speech clientele and becoming more available to the SNFs. I'm just really nervous about making such a risky move. Everyone I have mentioned this idea to tells me I'm crazy to give up the benefits (including summers/holidays off) I receive through the school district. However, I (and everyone else in my position) have not received a raise in 3 years! Any advice, thoughts, or suggestions are greatly appreciated! Thanks!
