I am a spl teacher in a public school setting. I have been working with a young male student since his entry to kindergarten. He has now transitioned to the middle school setting. This child is diagnosed with severe childhood apraxia. I am frustrated in that while he has made significant progress in his speech he still remains severely delayed. His poor motor processing has severely impacted his delays in reading, math and spelling. He evidences an underlying intelligence that is getting lost as he becomes educationally further behind his peers. Is anyone aware of any specialized groups or programs that can assist his educators and parents in helping this young man? He has a great deal of support within his family but we reside in an area of limited resources.
