1.)There's a great book called The Bridge of Vocabulary published by Pearson. It comes with a CD and has lessons for pre-k through HS/adult.
2.)Find out what they're working on in the classroom that you might be able to supplement. I spend a lot of time on prepositions which are used a lot in following directions:on, under, behind, in front of, first, etc.
3.)Think how you can use each month: October is a great month to talk about body parts/shapes using pictures of scarecrows and jack-o-lanterns, November for food and so on.
4.) If you have a school budget for materials, there are many materials from SuperDuper, Linguisystems for any unit you can think of.
5.) Get some index cards, scissors, glue and markers and start a picture library with pictures you draw, find online or in magazines.
