Read this article on the occurrence of middle ear aspiration due to need for pharyngeal flap surgery. If by working on a fricative, there might be an increase in saliva going thru the Eustachian tube into middle ear..perhaps MD was referring to this as aspiration??? But, after learning a bit about this, call the MD and ask for him to explain just what he meant. It can be a typing error, or it can be critical. Either way, you need to know. If it turns out to be a concern about aspiration, then maybe I can help you.
