I am having an issue with the fact that rehab centers (or at least the one in my area) will provide services to anyone asking for it (or who will pay for it).
While at the school, children are required to meet eligibility criteria (focusing on age appropriateness of artic errors, percentile scores, 1 1/2 standard deviations-for language, etc.).
Parents tend to feel that the school is not giving the student what they need ....when in fact it is AGE APPROPRIATE for them to not have that skill yet. The rehab is just providing services to anyone for anything (age appropriate or not).
Sorry.....just needed to vent. Anyone else come across this issue??????
