Holly, Thank you so much for the ideas. I will use them. I'm a little confused about the shoebox activity. Are the 5 sentences you mentioned talking points about the topic or just appropriate comments to make about the topic? Then do you thread this paper through the slit in the box? Sorry for all the questions, but it sounds like a great activity incorporating tactile and visual aids and I want to do it right.
