My son does not have an IEP. He was dismissed from early intervention in preschool after he scored well on a receptive language test. I talked till blue in the face with the school. I thought I could advocate for my own child, but am now seeing I am likely going to have to get an advocate. I have observed in his classroom. With all the other behavior issues going on in the room, I really think his not speaking or even going into a low arrousal state is not a problem in the teacher's eyes. The principal initially told me he did not think this kind of student should be in his school, so I didn't expect him to be a team player.
How do I get the school to actually do the assessments?
