As a speech team, we're asking this question: Are we supposed to see every child on the autism spectrum in a language/social skills group? That is, unfortunately, a lot of kids in our large district. If these students are making great grades, is there a "negative educational impact"? If the therapy is solely for social skills, should parents pursue private therapy outside of the school setting?
I currently provide services for every student on the spectrum in my school (and enjoy doing so), so I can see how it is beneficial to these students. We're just wondering how other districts handle this situation?
