When you say no support, does he have an IEP? He should have social goals. Reading is not the only barometer to measure educational impact. What about peer interaction, cooperative learning, oral presentations. He needs social and pragmatic language goals. They may be addressed by the SLP in a small group or a social skills behavior specialist (my district has one) in a group or at very least the school social worker in a peer pals type group.
