I have been providing therapy for over 30 years and still get on the floor with young children. Make sure your back is against something like a wall. I get up like the instructor taught my son and daughter in a rolling skating class. When getting up place both knees on the floor, bring up one knee, now place both hands on that knee (one hand on top of the other), push to bring yourself up. If I can do it on roller skates, you surely can do this. Also, stretching once a day helps also. Hope this helps!
